Molding process
The molding process which adopt pultrusion and molding technics used in producing protective cover of contact rail and insulator bracket of city track traffic could be classified as the protective part and support part.
Pultrusion is an automatic manufacturing process for producing continuous lengths of reinforced polymer structural shapes with constant cross-sections. The reinforcement materials are in continuous forms such as rolls of fiberglass mat and doffs of fiberglass roving and other continuous reinforcement materials. Raw materials are a liquid resin mixture (containing resin, fillers and specialized additives) and flexible textile reinforcing fibers. The process involves pulling these raw materials (rather than pushing, as is the case in extrusion) through a heated steel forming die using a continuous pulling device. Pultrusion combines the excellence of fiber reinforced polymer together with the automatic continuous molding process. During the process, the product length could satisfy any requirement, which is convenient for construction and improves structural integrity. The internal structure of the product is dense and with no spiracle, a high degree of resin curing, smooth and bright surface, better corrosion resistance, which greatly extend the product life expand.
Molding process is another important method to form FRP(Fiber reinforced polymer), which has the following characteristics: high efficiency; accurate products size; smooth surface; two refined surface; low production cost; easy to perform mechanization and automation; complex products can be forming at one time with no need to perform the secondary processing which may cause the detrimental strength of glass; good appearance &size and good repeatability.
